Translational Expertise

Our team is committed to the translation of products, processes, and services that enhance human health. We partner with the UD Office of Economic Innovation and Partnership to create an environment where ideas thrive. Our success stories include:

• Launch of small businesses. Our faculty members and senior design teams have successfully started businesses based on research and intellectual property developed at UD.
• Joint preparation of SBIR / STTR proposals. We have experience developing SBIR/STTR proposals with company partners that can facilitate new collaborations.
• License IP to outside entity. Our faculty have licensed IP to outside entities with OEIP support. Learn more about our current IP portfolio here.
• Enabling research collaboration with industry partners. Our experience with non-disclosure agreements, materials transfer agreements, patent applications, funding contracts, and other agreements will expedite time to engagement for new partners.
• Collaboration with entrepreneurs/business experts. We generate new ideas and promote their development in collaboration with entrepreneurs-in-residence at the Delaware Innovation Space, as well as participation in “Spin In”, “Hen Hatch”, NSF-I-Corps, and other development programs.
